Kristy Fudakowska-Donnelly and Tayra-Lu Miller spoke about Blair Court Community House which is a small, not-for-profit organization directly located in a 71 unit subsidized housing community in the south-east end of the city. Dedicated to supporting the community by offering a wide range of programs and services that address the social, educational and recreational needs of those living in this vibrant, multicultural neighbourhood. They are often the first point of contact for new families moving into the neighbourhood. Programs and services are geared towards meeting the needs and wants of the community. Blair Court Community House has been in operation for over 18 years and opened its doors roughly 21,800 times last year.

•Homework Club                                             Soccer Program         
•Preschool Readiness Programs                      Computer and Internet Access
•Youth Drop-In                                                Snack & Chat with a Community Health Nurse
•Music Lessons (Piano & Guitar)                    Summer Camps
•Women’s Fitness (yoga)                                 Summer Tutoring
•Free Hair Cuts                                                Annual Income Tax Clinic
•Kid’s Craft and Movie Nights                        Annual Flu Shot Clinic
•Kid’s Gardening Program                               Fax and Photocopy access
•Informal Counseling, Support and Referrals

They operate with support from funders, partners, volunteers and staff members as well as member of the Blair Court community
